We get paid for bringing value to the marketplace. It takes time to bring value to the marketplace, but we get paid for the value, not the time.

One of the biggest things that I try to do here at MyFamilyOnABudget.com is try to create value by sharing stories from my experience, sharing information I’ve learned, and also by trying to motivate you to learn to get out of debt and build wealth so that you can free yourself from the bondage of debt.

I think this quote is huge. If you have ever been contemplating starting your own blog or other type of business, this has got to be one of the biggest foundational messages that you have to internalize. It doesn’t matter if you put in 8 hours or 80 hours, as long as you are providing value, you will attract an audience and will end up getting paid one way or another. This could be in the form of money, the positive feeling of helping others, or many other things.
