The weekends can be very busy in our household, but then there are those weekends we get to chill and relax. This past weekend was one of those relaxing weekends. We hung out and played inside most of the day on Saturday and by the end of the day on Sunday, we had to make sure the kids were able to get their "wiggles" out. We decided to take the kids over to the Sandwich splash pad. It is a nice way to get out of the house, get wet and have some fun with infants and toddlers. The best part? It's FREE!
Sandwich Splash Pad Features
With 13 different spray features and 1,800 square feet of concrete to run around on, there is plenty of space to get wet and have fun while not feeling overcrowded by others visiting! There are two nice canopies with picnic benches for you to sit and watch the kids play too as well as a port-o-potty for easy bathroom access.
The Sandwich splash pad's operating season usually runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, although this year (2017) they were open through September 11th.
A few details from one of our visits
We had a great time visiting the park and playing in the water until a storm rolled in about 15 minutes before the park closed. We had to run to the car while getting even more wet from the oncoming storm. All was fun though, here's some images of kids having fun:
We had a lot of fun going out and playing in the water and although we were there less then an hour, the splash park did a great job of letting the kids run around and get to experience a fun, new place! We will definitely be returning in the future!
What kind of fun, free or low-cost things are you planning this summer to do with your kids?
